Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Marilyn Thompson. Christmas. Score and parts. 11 pages. Marilyn Thompson #6509311. Published by Marilyn Thompson (A0.809616).

This delightful 17th-century French carol has a lilting feel in this setting for duet Piano/Organ Duet.  The difficulty is moderate and accessible to most church pianist and organists. Jeannette and Isabelle are two female farmhands who have found the baby Jesus and his mother in a stable. Excited, they run to a nearby village to tell the inhabitants. Visitors to the stable are urged to keep their voices quiet, so the newborn can enjoy his dreams. Children in the Provence region, dressed as shepherds and milkmaids, still carry torches and candles while singing the carol, on their way to Christmas Eve Midnight Mass.(Please contact marilyn@mtmusicministries.com for further information.)
