Composed by Jonathan David Whitcomb. Baroque,Classical,Instructional. Score. 1 pages. Whitcomb Music #845310. Published by Whitcomb Music (A0.1251015).

This excercize prepares an advanced-beginner pianist for the first invention by Johann Sebastian Bach (C major). What makes Bach's inventions difficult for some modern pianists? They require both an active left hand and independence of the hands. This exercize trains you in activating the left hand, so you don't have to tackle both challenges at the same time with the first two-part invention by Bach.

The motifs are similar or identical to those in Bach's first invention, but are easier: mostly limited dual-hand activity, compared with Bach.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
