Review-Nimrod by Sir Edward Elgar

When watching the 2012 Olympics, I was thrilled to hear Elgars "Nimrod" during the opening. Although I own many music books, Id only seen the "Nimrod" in one Wedding Book, and that was an organ arrangement. To make matters worse, Id loaned the book and it never came back. I was in the process of preparing special music for an event in British Columbia where I now reside, and music stores are few and far between here! So it was musicnotes to the rescue again! This piano arrangement of "Nimrod" is true to the contemplative mode I believe Elgar intended. This is not always the case when transcribing orchestral music to a piano keyboard. In addition, the arrangement should be very attainable for most musicians who have had three or so years lessons. I, for one, didnt know that much about Elgars work, so a quick trip to Google made it even more meaningful to learn and present. I am very pleased Great Britain Olympic presenters saw fit to use his music and even more pleased I could find it easily, download it quickly, and play it with a minimal amount of preparation. A big plus was to see my name in the permission sentence. My peeps were properly impressed. Thank you musicnotes!

Elgar Nimrod from Enigma Variations

Good arrangement for piano solo transferring orchestra original scores and good repertoire for adult piano fans who once learned piano playing in school ages.

Nimrod from Enigma Variation,Opus 36,no.9.

This is probably the most well known piece of classical music in the UK,even for those people who arent interested in the classics. We tend to refer to it as one of the best tunes ever written. This particular arrangement is excellent, dont elaborate and youll play it forever.
