Composed by Camille Saint-Saens. Arranged by Ross Holcombe. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 48 pages. Gordon Cherry #662611. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1058290).

Danse Macabre is a tone poem for orchestra written in 1874. According to legend, “Death” appears at midnight every year on Halloween. The dead come out of their graves to dance till dawn when the cock crows and they return to their graves until the next year. Mr. Holcombe has done a “hair-raising” job of scoring his 7-minute arrangement of the complete work for Brass Quintet for advanced performers. Instrumentation is for 2 Trumpets in C, Horn, Trombone, and Tuba.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
