The song was Ellis-Bextor's third top 10 hit in the United Kingdom, peaking at number three on the UK Singles Chart. "Get Over You" reached the top 10 in Denmark, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand. In the latter two countries, the song was certified platinum and gold, respectively, also doing well across Europe in Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland. The accompanying music video for "Get Over You" is set in a shopping mall, after hours, on a rainy night, where slowly all the manequins begin to come to life, led by Ellis-Bextor in a wedding dress, eventually eventually causing havoc and smashing glass, even the camera, at the end. This cool chart has a built-in solo section for alto sax, tenor sax or trumpet towards the end, allowing flexibility as needed, with a punchy tag to finish.
