This work is intended for young players to work on both lyrical and technical playing. I wanted to write something for my own students as the repertoire for young musicians does not always contain contrasting material in such a short work. I also wanted it to include differing meters while still maintaining a friendly melody that can be recognized throughout the whole piece. While it is only about 2 minutes at the tempos indicated, it still has a plethera of phrases that can be crafted to the musicians own taste while still having some guidance for decision making. The tempos are flexible- whether you want to take the intro slower or the 3/4 section faster, I hope you make it your own!
