The song Happy Birthday To You has cloudy origins and a colorful copyright history. It was not until 2016, following legal action and a court order, that the song officially came into Public Domain. Here it is, in a medley of fun arrangements especially for the classical music lover, with apologies to Ravel, Rossini, Bizet, Mozart, and Beethoven. 18 pages. Play time: 3 min 50 sec. The overture has become a staple of the orchestral repertoire, as have many Rosssini overtures. In this arrangement, I have omitted the famous snare drum roll at the beginning, opting instead to stick with just the flute choir instruments. I also simplified the opening rhythmic figure in the interest of ease of consistency across the ensemble. Much of the orchestral piccolo part, often seen in auditions, is preserved in the piccolo part here and I have kept the piece in its original keys. The piece is typical Rossini: lively, challenging, and fun. The total play time is aprox. 9:45. Last Resort Music Publishing #3541019. Published by Last Resort Music Publishing (A0.530324). Largo al factotum (Make way for the factotum!) is an aria from Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, sung at the initial entrance of the title character. Who doesn’t know this awesomely hummable song? Even Rossini would probably find it amusing that his aria has become even more famous due to the Bugs Bunny cartoon, “The Rabbit of Seville”. And we’d totally go into lavish detail to define the history and meaning of the term factotum, but we took a vote, and unfortunately, That’s All, Folks! An amazing resource for any musician, Music for Four is perfect for String Quartet, Mixed Quartet, Three Violins & Cello, Piano Quartet & More! Piano,Soprano Flute - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1282823 By Peter Sheridan, Flute with John Sawoski, Piano. By Frédéric Chopin (1810–1849). Arranged by John Sawoski. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Romantic Period. Score and part. 5 pages. Million Oaks Music #874066. Published by Million Oaks Music (A0.1282823). This arrangement of Variation II from Frédéric Chopin's popular Variations on a Theme by Rossini, sounds more like the mature Chopin. Chopin wrote the Variations at age 14, probably for his father (an amateur flutist) or one of his father's friends. In this version, John Sawoski creates a virtuosic and advanced accompaniment in an idion that resembles Chopin's later compositional style, and includes a more fluid and advanced flute part as performed by Peter Sheridan.
