Check out the wonderful contrast in movement between the flute and bass. This arrangement of Xmas carols would be a wonderful addition to any future holiday program. Well done Keith! Have fun! Published by JDevor Music, LLC (A0.1374647). Etudes in the Third Octavefor improving solo recorder playing (version for F recorders)The intention of this book is to introduce the third octave of the recorder to intermediate and advanced students no matter their age. The first section introduces each chromatic pitch from Eb6 to C7 (the highest possible pitch on a standard F alto recorder) in a pedagogically appropriate fashion. Each etude should be practiced slowly at first, focusing on correct fingering, phrasing and articulation prior to attaining full tempo. All of these etudes are purposefully composed using a variety of rhythmic and harmonic materials. On some of the fingering charts, ‘bell’ is included underneath the fingering. This indicates that the bell is to be closed either by pushing it up against the leg or the use of a bell key. Throughout the musical examples this is also reminded to the student by the usage of the ‘+’ sign. The second and third sections take students through recommended exercises in octaves, fifths, and major/minor scales. The goal here is to practice clean and swift transitions between notes, especially when in distant registers. The last section comprises two page-long ‘Grand Etudes’, which each reinforce and combine material from earlier in this book. Each one is about a minute long and uses the entire range of the instrument. When practicing these, be sure to attempt to keep the sound of the recorder consistent across both low and high registers. Recorder Trio Recorder - Level 2 - SKU: A0.1148908 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Instructional,March,Opera,Romantic Period. Recorder Ensemble. 10 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #749041. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1148908). This arrangement adapted for recorder trio was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, that is, inspiring and significant to the already known choral symphony by Beethoven, indicated to be performed by young music students, who want to enter the symphonic music, moreover, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change in key, so that it is comfortable for all instruments in the formation, thus maintaining the essence of the striking melody, as well as using it for ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Op. 125 incorporates part of the poem An die Freude (To Joy), a hymn written by Friedrich Schiller, with the text sung by soloists and a choir in its last movement. It was the first example of a major composer using the human voice as prominently as the instruments in a symphony, thus creating a far-reaching work that set the tone for the symphonic form that was to be adopted by Romantic composers. This is the last complete symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. The choral symphony, better known as the Ninth Symphony or The Ninth, is one of the best known works in the Western repertoire, considered both an icon and predecessor of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven's great masterpieces, where it was first performed on May 7, 1824, the same year it was completed, at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna, Austria. The conductor was Michael Umlauf, the theater's music director, and Beethoven - dissuaded from conducting by the advanced stage of his deafness - was given a special place on the stage next to the conductor. It was later rearranged by Herbert von Karajan to become the anthem of the European Union in 1972, the national anthem of Rhodesia from 1974 until 1979, Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia, used the tune Ode to Joy.. Published by Raymond Fenech (A0.760549). Waltz in A minor, often designated as No. 19, is a waltz for solo piano composed by Frédéric Chopin. The waltz was written sometime between 1843 and 1848, but was not published until 1860, after the composer's death. The piece shows great sadness, while enclosing some episodes that hint at happiness and hope. The first theme of the piece uses a simple but effective melody, conveying a sad portrait, with decorative ornaments used throughout. The second theme is more interesting and lively, although it still has a certain sadness. About halfway through the piece, there is a modulation into A major, featuring a happy and joyful melody. The piece concludes with the main theme, followed by a short coda. The Level is Intermediate/Advanced Intermediate and the duration is approximately 2.01 minutes. It could be played in any type of recital/concert. Ode to Joy by Beethoven for Recorder Quintet

Published by Carrie Burdzinski (A0.892014). This arrangement for three like instruments (soprano recorders, flutes, oboes, etc.) explores the traditional haunting lullaby with tinges of sadness, lightness, and beauty. In Variation 1, the standard melody is enhanced with embellishments and accompanied by arpeggios in the third voice. Variation 2 is a steady swing in 6/8 time. Variation 3 is a rhythmic section that feels somewhat like a Scottish reel. Variation 4 is light and sprightly, with all voices playing eighth notes in unison. Variation 5 ends the piece as a soft, pretty finale. This arrangement is best suited for advanced musicians. Run time is approximately 5:05. A live multitrack MP3 recording, performed by the arranger on soprano recorders, is included on this page. Special honor: This arrangement was featured on Kindermusik of the Valley, a unique music and movement program for children and their families.Sheet music includes conductor's score plus individual sheets for three soprano recorders (or flutes, oboes, etc.) 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry Pachelbel's Canon in D Major - flute, oboe, or recorder trio with piano
