Full Orchestra - SKU: A0.742702 Composed by Public Domain. Arranged by Jeff D. Anderson. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 82 pages. AnderKamp Music #3639401. Published by AnderKamp Music (A0.742702). This is a wide, sweeping and pastoral arrangement of this timeless hymn arranged in a John Barry (Dances With Wolves, Out of Africa) sort of style. Highly praised and incredibly gifted arranger and orchestrator Jim Gray asked Jeff Anderson to create an arrangement for The Nashville Praise Symphony. The Nashville Praise Symphony (NPS) is an auditioned orchestral group under the direction of Camp Kirkland. After NPS performed this arrangement for a season, Jeff is excited to now make this arrangement available for purchase. Designed for full orchestra, this beautiful, peaceful arrangement would serve perfectly as an offertory or set-up for a message/sermon. Instrumentation is: Flute 1 & 2 Oboe Clarinet 1 & 2 Bassoon Bass Clarinet Trumpet 1-3 Horn 1 & 2 Trombone 1-3 Tuba Harp Percussion 1 & 2 Timpani Violin 1 & 2 Viola Cello Double Bass Written Out Piano Substitution parts: Alto Sax 1 & 2 (Horn 1 & 2) Tenor Sax 1 & 2 (Trombone 1 & 2) Bari Sax (Tuba) String Synth 1 (Violins-Viola) String Synth 2 (Viola-Cello) String Synth 3 (Cello-Double Bass) String Synth 4 (String Reduction)

Programme notes: Although John Barry had written 50% of the original 'James Bond' theme for 1962's Dr. No (and orchestrated the whole thing), he felt the need to create a new piecefor 007's second on-screen outing that was entirely his own. Using Elmer Bernstein's'Magnificent Seven' theme as inspiration, he crafted a tune that was full of adventure and awe. Although the '007' theme presented here was not adopted by the cinema-goers as the definitive Bond music, it demonstrates Barry's ability to orchestrate and compose in the style of the classic 40s & 50s Hollywood pictures. The theme has been used in several Bondmovies since - mainly as a secondary theme for scenes that wish to depict Bond's heroism more than his swagger and charisma.
Conductor's Notes: When the strings take the melody at 'D', they should 'soar'! While the piece lacks melodic or harmonic development, it does show off each section of the orchestra.Make sure all dynamic markings are strictly adhered to as the melody may get overpowered otherwise. The lead trumpet part is a transcription of Derek Watkins' original performance and is very high in places. In the event of having no harpist, the glissandos may be played on a transposed electronic keyboard so thatthe white notes are tuned to a E Major scale (transpose up a major 3rd). The rest of the harp part should be played on a non-transposed keyboard. The piece should fade out to nothing so make sure all eyes areon the conductor as they will need to guide each player through the dynamic changes from 'G' onwards.

Score and Parts. 15 pages. Flavio Regis Cunha #5355195. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.597316). The Keyboard suite in D minor (HWV 437) was composed by George Frideric Händel, for solo keyboard (harpsichord), between 1703 and 1706. It is also referred to as Suite de pièce Vol. 2 No. 4. It was first published in 1733.The piece was used in an orchestral arrangement for Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon. Dutch singer Petra Berger used the Sarabande as the musical setting for her song about Mary, Queen of Scots, Still a Queen (In My End Is My Beginning), from her album Eternal Woman (2001). An orchestral version was also used on the first episode of the 2018 television mini-series of Agatha Christie's A.B.C. Murders, starring John Malkovich as Poirot. This beautiful arrangement for orchestra brings in its variations, an intercalation of orchestral forces and different climaxes. The first part of the theme starts on the strings accompanied by the continuum. The second part includes the metals and the tympani. In the first variation, the theme is played by a group of strings, within a chamber proposal. In the third variation, the strings give way to the woodwinds, where horns, trombones talk to the woodwinds. In the fourth variation, the same group of winds remains, but they are accompanied by the ow strings. Finally, in the last variation, the orchestral force appears with brilliance and intensity.

Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1390491). Somewhere in Time is a 1980 American romantic fantasy drama film from Universal Pictures, directed by Jeannot Szwarc, and starring Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour, and Christopher Plummer. It is a film adaptation of the novel Bid Time Return (1975) by Richard Matheson, who also wrote the screenplay.Reeve plays Richard Collier, a playwright who becomes obsessed with a photograph of a young woman at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Through self-hypnosis, he manifests himself back in time to the year 1912 to find love with actress Elise McKenna (portrayed by Seymour). He comes into conflict with Elise's manager, William Fawcett Robinson (portrayed by Plummer), who fears that romance will derail her career, and attempts to stop him.The film is known for its musical score composed by John Barry, featuring pianist Roger Williams. The 18th variation of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini is also used several times.Seymour disclosed at the 2022 TCM Classic Film Festival that she and Christopher Reeve fell in love while working on the film. However, they broke up after Reeve found out his ex-girlfriend was expecting his child. Up until Reeve passed away, the two remained close friends. The film garnered a serious cult following and in 1990 super fan Bill Shepard, founded a fan club called INSITE, the International Network of Somewhere In Time EnthusiastsThis beautiful melody by John Barry has bee arrangend to feature flutes and clarinet.

Www.studio-orchestrations.com #977260. Published by www.studio-orchestrations.com (A0.1393788). IMPORTANT: Please see note below about the key of this versionThis classic song by John Barry and Tim Rice originally sung by Rita Coolidge comes from Roger Moore's last Bond appearance in Octopussy. This is a film very much of its time, many dry double-entendre from our leading man for sure which might raise a Moore-like eyebrow these days.  Likewise the song here is perhaps one of the lesser played James Bond title tracks too but it is a charming departure from some of the higher octane anthems like Thunderball, Live and let die or even Goldfinger and returns us to the gentler musical era / genre of From Russia with love, For your eyes only and You only live twice. So why not program this in your film night for singer and orchestra. This score and parts are a semitone/half-step higher (starting in F major) which might suit some female performers slightly better for range.  The original Rita Coolidge performancxe key (starting in E major) is dusky and mellow (ie. quite low) but is also available on this website.INSTRUMENTATION:2 Flutes2 Oboes2 Clarinets[Optional 2nd clarinet dbl. Www.studio-orchestrations.com #977256. Published by www.studio-orchestrations.com (A0.1393785). This classic song by John Barry and Tim Rice originally sung by Rita Coolidge comes from Roger Moore's last Bond appearance in Octopussy. In this version we have the original Rita Coolidge performancxe key (starting in E major) which is dusky and mellow but is also available on this website a semitone/half-step higher (strarting in F major) which might suit some female performers ranges better.INSTRUMENTATION:2 Flutes2 Oboes2 Clarinets[Optional 2nd clarinet dbl. Full Orchestra - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1043121 By Barry Manilow. By Bruce Johnston. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Pop. Score and parts. 57 pages. Kevin Riley #647831. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1043121). I Write the Songs is a popular song written by Bruce Johnston in 1975 and released on his album Going Public in 1977. Barry Manilow's version reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1976 after spending two weeks atop the Billboard adult contemporary chart in December 1975. It won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year and was nominated for Record of the Year in 1977. Billboard ranked it as the No. 13 song of 1976. The original version was recorded by Captain & Tennille, who worked with Johnston in the early 1970s with the Beach Boys. It appears on their 1975 album Love Will Keep Us Together. The first release of I Write the Songs as a single was by teen idol David Cassidy from his 1975 solo album The Higher They Climb, which was also produced by Johnston. Cassidy's version reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart in August of that year. Johnston has stated that, for him, the I in the song is God, and that songs come from the spirit of creativity in everyone. He has said that the song is not about his Beach Boys bandmate Brian Wilson. Manilow was initially reluctant to record the song, stating in his autobiography Sweet Life: The problem with the song was that if you didn't listen carefully to the lyric, you would think that the singer was singing about himself. It could be misinterpreted as a monumental ego trip.[3] After persuasion by Clive Davis, then president of Arista Records, Manilow recorded the song, and his version of I Write the Songs was the first single taken from the album Tryin' to Get the Feeling. It first charted on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 15, 1975, reaching the top of the chart nine weeks later, on January 17, 1976. Cash Box said of Manilow's version Good work Barry describing the song as melodic, ballad-like beginning grows into an operatic crescendo, all done in clear production that all age groups will appreciate.

Moonlight Serenade" arranged here for Tuba Quintet, is an American popular song composed by Glenn Miller with subsequent lyrics by Mitchell Parish. It was an immediate phenomenon when first released in May 1939 as an instrumental arrangement and was adopted as Miller’s signature tune. In 1991, Miller’s recording of "Moonlight Serenade" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
The song, recorded on April 4, 1939 on RCA Bluebird, was a Top Ten hit on the U.S. pop charts in 1939, reaching number three on the Billboard charts, where it stayed for fifteen weeks. It was the number 5 top pop hit of 1939 in the Billboard year-end tally. Glenn Miller had five records in the top 20 songs of 1939 on Billboard′s list.
In the UK, "Moonlight Serenade" was released as the A-side of a 78 on His Master’s Voice, with "American Patrol" as the B-side. The recording reached number twelve in the UK in March 1954, staying on the chart for one week. In a medley with "Little Brown Jug" and "In the Mood", "Moonlight Serenade" reached number thirteen on the UK charts in January 1976, in a chart run of eight weeks.
The recording was also issued as a V-Disc, No. 39A, in November 1943.
The recording used a clarinet-led saxophone section, which is widely considered[citation needed] the classic Glenn Miller style. Miller studied the Schillinger technique with Joseph Schillinger, who is credited with helping Miller create the "Miller sound", and under whose tutelage he himself composed "Moonlight Serenade".
The song evolved from a 1935 version entitled "Now I Lay Me Down to Weep", with music by Glenn Miller and lyrics by Eddie Heyman to a version called "Gone with the Dawn" with lyrics by George Simon, and "The Wind in the Trees" with lyrics by Mitchell Parish. In his biography of Glenn Miller, George T. Simon recounted how vocalist Al Bowlly of the Ray Noble Orchestra sang him the Eddie Heyman lyrics to the Glenn Miller music of "Now I Lay Me Down to Weep" in 1935. The Noble Orchestra never recorded the song. Finally it ended up as "Moonlight Serenade" because Robbins Music bought the music and learned that Miller was recording a cover of "Sunrise Serenade", a Frankie Carle associated song, for RCA Victor. They thought "Moonlight" would be a natural association for "Sunrise".
"Now I Lay Me Down to Weep" was composed in 1935 with lyrics by Eddie Heyman and music by Glenn Miller. After "Moonlight Serenade", originally released solely as an instrumental, became a smash hit in 1939, Mitchell Parish wrote new lyrics for the music under that title.
A notable vocal version can be found on Frank Sinatra’s Moonlight Sinatra released in 1965, which also contains "Moon Love", "Moonlight Becomes You", and "Oh, You Crazy Moon", which were recorded by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra. "Moonlight Serenade" can also be found on Nothing But the Best, a 2008 Frank Sinatra greatest hits compilation by Reprise, on My Way: The Best of Frank Sinatra from 1997 by Warner Bros., and the Frank Sinatra compilation Greatest Love Songs from 2002. Frank Sinatra also released the song as part of an 7" EP 33RPM single in 1966, Reprise SR1018. The song also appeared on the 2015 centennial collection Ultimate Sinatra. In 1939, Count Basie and His Orchestra recorded one of the earliest versions to feature the lyrics added by Mitchell Parish which was released as a 78 single, Vocalion 5036.
"Moonlight Serenade" has been covered by Barry Manilow, Carly Simon, The Airmen of Note of the U.S. Air Force with Air Force Strings, Charlie Haden, Marc Reift, Chet Baker with The Mariachi Brass in 1966, Santo and Johnny, Thelma Houston, Carol Burnett, Toots Thielemans, Deodato, who reached number 18 on the Billboard Easy Listening Chart, Count Basie and his Orchestra with vocals by Helen Humes in 1939, Benny Goodman and his Orchestra, Cab Calloway, The Modernaires, Gene Krupa and his Orchestra, Freddy Martin and his Orchestra, Bert Kaempfert, Ray Conniff, Mina, Dick Todd on RCA Bluebird, Geoff Love and His Orchestra, Lloyd Gregory on solo guitar, Dick Hyman, Maxwell Davis and his Orchestra, Tony Evans, Los Indios Tabajaras, David Rose, Richard Himber, Fi Dells Quartet, Waikikis, The Universal-International Orchestra conducted by Joseph Gershenson, Oleg Lundstrom, Charlie Byrd, Taco, Alix Combelle, Richard Vaughn, Lisa Ono, Eddie Maynard, Simone Kopmajer, Hamburg Philharmonia, Frankie Capp, Dave, Robert Banks Trio, Karel Vlach, Transatlantic Swing Band, the Frankie Condon Orchestra, The Romantic Strings, Paul Mauriat, Tommy Leonetti, Johnny Desmond, the Boston Pops under Arthur Fiedler, John Williams, and Keith Lockhart, Charlie Calello Orchestra, J.P. Jazz critic Gary Giddins wrote about the song’s impact and legacy; "Miller exuded little warmth on or off the bandstand, but once the band struck up its theme, audiences were done for: throats clutched, eyes softened. Can any other record match ’Moonlight Serenade’ for its ability to induce a Pavlovian slobber in so many for so long?" (The New Yorker, May 24, 2004).
"Moonlight Serenade" released as V-Disc 39A, VP 75, Theme Song, by the U.S. War Department in November 1943. In November 1939, Miller had a 15-minute radio series on CBS called Moonlight Serenade that ran three times a week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10:00 PM Eastern Time (shifting to 7:15 PM in May 1942), until September 1942, sponsored by Chesterfield.
Wartime release:
The 1939 RCA Victor studio recording of "Moonlight Serenade" was released by the U.S. War Department as V-Disc 39A, VP 75, Theme Song, in November, 1943. The recording was also released on the Navy V-Disc No. 160A. A V-Disc test pressing of a recording of the song from November 17, 1945 by the AAF Band was made but the disc was not issued. A new recording by Glenn Miller with the American Band of the Allied Expeditionary Forces was broadcast to Germany in 1944 on the radio program The Wehrmacht Hour.

This beautiful melody by John Barry was used for the 80s movie Somewhere in Time with Jane Seymour and Chritopher Reeve, considered by some to be the most romantic movie ever. This arrangement for string orchestra is complemented by piano which also has some solo parts like a mini piano concerto. Actually, the piece draws from two melodic sources, the main theme by John Barry, as well as a second theme composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff, who in turn wrote it as a series of variations based on a theme by Paganini. The piece itsself is not too complicated, but does need an intermediate level to be able to play; the piano part should be performed by someone with advanced intermediate skills, as it has some flashy passages. You can listen to the complete piece here:https://soundcloud.com/claudio-porstmann/somewhere-in-time-movie-theme-john-barry

The film's score was composed by John Barry, who is known for his work on James Bond films and other notable soundtracks. Here are some key facts about the music from Somewhere in Time by John Barry: The score is primarily orchestral, featuring lush strings and piano. The main theme, also known as Somewhere in Time, is a sweeping, romantic melody that is often associated with the film 1 . The score incorporates elements of classical music, including themes from Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini . The soundtrack was released on vinyl and cassette in 1980, and has since been re-released on. In 1998, a re-recording of the soundtrack was released, featuring a full orchestra and conducted by Joel McNeely. The soundtrack has been praised for its emotional impact and its ability to capture the film's romantic themes. Overall, John Barry's score for Somewhere in Time is a beautiful and memorable piece of music that has become synonymous with the film itself. Its lush orchestration and romantic themes have made it a favorite among fans of film music.
