Piano - Moderate SKU: M2.MOS-18024 Mit einem Anhang zur Ausfuhrung der Ornamente. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. This edition: Revised Edition. 29 Stucke aus dem Notenbuchern fur Anna Magdalena und Wilhelm Friedemann Bach sowie anderen Quellen. Möseler Verlag #MOS 18024. Published by Möseler Verlag (M2.MOS-18024).

Piano Solo - Early Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). Arranged by Flavio Regis Cunha. Baroque Period, Sacred, Christmas, Easter, Wedding. Score. 8 pages. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha
"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" (or simply "Joy") is the most common English title of a piece of music derived from a chorale setting of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben, BWV 147 ("Heart and Mouth and Deed and Life"), composed by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1723. The same music on different stanzas of a chorale closes both parts of the cantata.
A transcription by the English pianist Myra Hess (1890?1965) was published in 1926 for piano solo and in 1934 for piano duet. It is often performed slowly and reverently at wedding ceremonies, as well as during Christian festive seasons like Christmas and Easter.Jesus joy of men (Jesus bleibet meine Freude, in German) is the final choir of the cantata "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben" ("Heart and Mouth and Actions and Life", in a free translation), written by Johann Sebastian Bach in Leipzig, Germany in the year 1716.
Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that survived, it was given the number BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works. Contrary to what is supposed, Johann Schop (1590-1664), and not Bach, composed the melodic line of the choir Werde munter, mein Gem?the (1641), which gave rise to the sixth and tenth movements of Cantata 147, being the tenth Jesus bleibet meine Freude. Bach gave him harmonization and an instrumental accompaniment. In this composition, the choir is superimposed on a great succession of triplets, "one of the Bachian symbols to indicate the Trinity.

Flute,Piano - Level 2 - SKU: A0.549354 Composed by Bach-Gounod. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Contemporary,Easter,Wedding. Score and part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3490015. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549354). This arrangement follows the original Bach prelude and so excludes the extra measure that Schwencke introduced in 1783. If you prefer the extra measure, please see Bach-Gounod: Ave Maria, Schwencke version for Alto Flute & Piano, S0.661753. The convenient 1st & 2nd endings provide an option for extended performance with minimal page turns for the accompanist. The duration with repeat is about 4:50. Score: 6 pages. Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Based on Prelude #1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1. Well suited for church meditations or school programs or recital encores. Ave Maria Ave Maria is a Catholic prayer that consequently asks for the mother of Jesus (Mary) to intercede. Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach’s Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This version, as well as Schubert’s version, have become essential items at weddings, masses, and funerals. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio. History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer. Style It seems like Bach created an engaging new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.

Piano Solo - Level 1 - SKU: A0.1103296 Composed by Christian Petzold. Arranged by Piacere Music Sheets. Baroque,Instructional,Standards. Score. 3 pages. Piacere Music Sheets #706562. Published by Piacere Music Sheets (A0.1103296). Opus/Catalog Number: BWV Anh.115 Key/Tone: G Minor Year/Date of Composition: 1725 or before, in 1725-40 added in Notebooks for Anna Magdalena Bach (No.5) Difficulty: Grade 3/12 (Easy) Obs.: Although this piece has traditionnally been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, recent research has shown that is was rather composer by Christian Petzold, a German composer and organist contemporary with Bach. This minuet has a simple A-A-B-B musical form. During the Baroque period, musicians customarily played menuets in pairs: a first menuet, followed immediately by a second menuet, and then the first menuet played again without repeats. This menuet can thus follow immediately Menuet in G Major, BWV Anhang 114 (also by Petzold), after which Menuet BWV Anhang 115 may be played again without repeats.

Organ - Level 3 - SKU: A0.915098 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Paul Broadhurst. Baroque,Concert,Contemporary,Easter,Instructional. Score. 3 pages. Molto rubato #6188059. Published by Molto rubato (A0.915098). This arrangement allows the performer to provide a very effective, emotionally charged rendering of this really beautiful music which has had a well-deserved renaissance following its use in the 2017 film 'Call Me By Your Name'. The romantic treatment is in the tradition of Virgil Fox's famous version of Bach's Come, Sweet Death (BWV 478). The simpler Adagissimo makes fewer technical demands on the player but a sensitive performance will be similarly engaging for an audience. Detailed editorial markings make this a great piece for students to learn how to use nuance to great musical effect - the notes are simple to play in themselves but careful, musical phrasing makes all the difference in performance, including for the concluding Pedal solo. It's a good recital piece for demonstrating different facets of a medium/large instrument but its simplicity also make it a very useful piece for playing on even the smallest organ. The highly engaging, mournful tone makes it a useful addition to Holy Week repertoire or for funerals.

Published by Pietro Prugna (A0.769441). Arioso was originally composed for oboe and string orchestra, in a cantata. Bach later arranged it for keyboard and orchestra (BWV 1056). In this arrangement, Violin I plays the main melody while Violin II harmonises with the melody. This is accompanied by Piano reduction of the String Orchestra. I'll Second This is a series of arrangements where Violin II is added to harmonise the melody. The arrangements can be played without Violin II, with just melody and accompaniment. The PDF contains Full Score and Set of Parts (Violin I, Violin II and Piano).
