However, it's important to note that BWV Anh. 122 is part of the Anhang (Anh.), a section of the Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis (Bach Works Catalogue) that includes works of dubious authenticity or those once attributed to Bach but later found to be composed by other composers. In the case of BWV Anh. 122, it's generally believed that the piece was not composed by J.S. Bach himself but rather by one of his contemporaries or successors.Despite the uncertainty regarding its true composer, the March in D Major, BWV Anh. 122 is a delightful and spirited composition that exhibits the stylistic characteristics of the Baroque period. Here are some key aspects of the piece:Baroque Style: The piece reflects the Baroque style, known for its emphasis on contrast, movement, and clear, structured forms. The march is typically characterized by a steady, processional rhythm, and BWV Anh. 122 exemplifies this with its clear, marching tempo.D Major Key: Being in D Major, the piece likely has a bright and jubilant character. D Major is often associated with grandeur and triumph, making it a popular choice for celebratory and ceremonial music during the Baroque period.Keyboard Composition: Like many of Bach's (or his contemporaries') compositions, this march is likely composed for the keyboard, which during Bach's time would have included instruments like the harpsichord or the clavichord. It might also be adaptable for performance on the modern piano.Structure and Texture: The piece probably features a contrapuntal texture, a hallmark of Baroque music, where two or more melodic lines are woven together harmoniously. The structure of the march is likely to be straightforward and symmetrical, reflecting the order and balance prized in the Baroque era.Pedagogical Use: Pieces like the March in D Major, BWV Anh. 122 are often used for educational purposes, helping students develop a sense of rhythm, form, and Baroque style. They are suitable for intermediate-level students who are exploring the stylistic features of Baroque keyboard music. Wedding March

Wilson This collection of intermediate piano solos includes 20 arrangements of favorite classical pieces frequently used for weddings. All the songs in this collection are well-suited for processionals and recessionals of the ceremony participants (bride, groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents/family, flower girl, Bible boy, ring bearer, etc.). Several of these songs can also be used as part of the prelude, as interludes during candle-lighting, or as background music for a reception.
These arrangements were created to make challenging classical music more accessible for the intermediate player or easier to sight-read by more advanced players (comes in handy when asked to perform on short notice). Another feature of these arrangements is they are consistent at the intermediate to advanced-intermediate skill level throughout each piece. Many have been simplified and only include excerpts from the longer original movements. Other simplified characteristics include easier key signatures, timings, and fingerings and some melodies were modified to create a more contemporary sound.
Each of the 20 arrangements is also available separately with accompanying preview pages and audio samples.

These are the Invocation, Processional March, Fire Dance, Snake Dance (The Oracular Serpent) and Bacchanal. The music of the Invocation prepares for the reenactment of the myth of the Sun King, whose life and subsequent sacrifice is executed to placate the wrath of the Moon Goddess. According to legendary accounts, King Maelgwynhad determined to offer Taliesin as the sacrificial victim, and led him off in chains to the cadence of the Processional March to the dungeon at Dyganwy where along with Prince Elphin he was imprisoned. The King caused a great sacrificial funeral pyre to be built, stacked high with wood and stoked by burning embers taken from a fir tree, still smoldering from a winter’s storm lightning strike. The people of Gwynedd leapt in a furious sacrificial Fire Dance as Taliesin was brought enmeshed in a wicker cage to the edge of the pyre. A great snake appeared before the fire, coiling threateningly, and rearing up with a fearful hiss, spoke to Taliesin as the Snake Dance unfolds: Can you answer the riddle of the oracular serpent? As soon as Taliesin answered the correct mysterious formula in secret words only audible to the snake, the flames of the pyre roared back into life, and the serpent disappeared into fire to the sound of drums pounding an inexorable rhythm. King Maelgwyn was seized by his own soldiers and thrown without ceremony on the burning maelstrom, and led by the High Priest and the Council of Elders, Taliesin was proclaimed Sun King, who will reign for a period of seven years. All join in a great Bacchanal in celebration of the preservation of order in the universe.
