Children ??s Oak was commissioned by the wind band from Beauquesne, France. This solemn work pays homage to a city particularly affected by the two World Wars and is inspired by the knowledge that the city of Beauquesne needed to recover from these terrible episodes in its history. The title has its origin in the roots of the word ??Beauquesne?, the beautiful oak tree. It is a beautiful slow piece for your concert, or as a resource to work on phrasing and intonation, or alternatively as a warm up piece.

The text in this creative arrangement is a prayer to learn to love in the way that Christ loves us. We are reminded of the beloved nineteenth-century children's hymn: Sweeter music cannot be, loving Him who first loved me. A gentle gospel style permeates both choral lines and accompaniment, which can be enhanced with optional rhythm.

The “Hymnz4Kidz” series burst forth last year with considerable fanfare, led by one of the brightest new names in sacred music, Heather Sorenson. Now comes the latest release: This Is My Father's World. Traditional hymns dressed in fresh and snazzy outfits that captivate young singers and teach them our legacy of hymnody is grabbing everyone's attention. The series offers a host of correlating products: Accompaniment Tracks, Orchestral Score and Parts, and a downloadable Digital Toolkit (including a short skit, director's resources, activity sheet, and much more). Teaching old hymns has never been so much fun!
