Giacomo Meyerbeer (1791-1864) était un compositeur d'opéra allemand, d'origine juive, qui a été décrit comme peut-être le compositeur de musique de scène ayant eu le plus de succès au XIXe siècle. Sa carrière publique, de 1831 jusqu’à sa mort (période pendant laquelle il resta une figure dominante dans le monde de l’opéra) fut résumée par Hector Berlioz, son contemporain qui affirma : « il a non seulement la chance d’être talentueux, mais le talent d’être chanceux ». Ses œuvres ont fait de lui, le compositeur le plus joué dans les plus grandes maisons d'opéra du monde au XIXe siècle. Giacomo Meyerbeer composa son opéra Le Prophète en 1849. Dans cet opéra un couronnement est précédé d'une splendide marche. Bien que l'opéra lui-même soit rarement joué, la Marche du couronnement a une place importante dans le répertoire des concerts. Grand Nordic Tune. Par OLSEN VADSTEN OYSTEIN. 'Storslått' or in English ?Grand Nordic Tune? is one of many original pieces written by composer Øystein Olsen Vadsten. 'Slått' is a general term for music played to traditional Norwegian dances. ?Grand Nordic Tune? was a commissioned work for the Rælingen Musikklag's 70-year anniversary concert in 2022, where the piece was premiered. They wanted something a little pompous, and preferably something in the style of Nordic folk music, which the composer is known for. The title in Norwegian then was obvious, 'Storslått', which in Norwegian has a double meaning, both a big tune and, in a double meaning, pompous or magnificent. As usual, the starting point is a traditional Nordic dance form, and this time the choice fell on the distinctive Swedish 'polska', which is played in ¾. The dance, despite its name, reportedly has no connection to Poland, but is entirely of Scandinavian origin. It has been danced for centuries, and has also been called the devil's dance, because it had a hypnotizing effect on people, so that they could not stop, but danced themselves to death. Hence people thought that it must have been the devil who caused it. Quand la nature se venge – cinq minutes avant minuit Périodes glaciaires, périodes de réchauffement climatique, impacts d'astéroïdes - le climat de notre planète a toujours été en mutation. La différence avec avant est que le changement depuis la révolution industrielle est maintenant de plus en plus causé par les êtres humains. Le dégagement de gaz à effet de serre en particulier favorise notamment le réchauffement de l'atmosphère et des océans. Certains experts prédisent même une augmentation pouvant atteindre 4,8 degrés d'ici la fin du 21e siècle. Le résultat d'un tel développement serait un gigantesque mouvement migratoire en plus de catastrophes environnementales difficilement prévisibles. Il est important de réduire les émissions de CO2 : il est minuit moins cinq. Par VILHELMSEN INGEBJORG. 'The Cosmographic Mystery' outlines the great mysteries and secrets of the universe. The musical foundation is a tribute to composer Gustav Holst, and his suite 'The Planets'. Each movement from the suite is quoted in the course of the piece. The title is taken from a book by the German astronomer Johannes Kepler, which was published in the 17th century. The book explains Kepler's cosmological theory that the distance relationship between the planets could be understood in light of the five Platonic solids. The theory proposes that the solids dictate the structure of the universe through geometry. In 1946, George Walker was still doing graduate work at the Curtis institute when he composed Lyric for Strings, which would prove over the coming decades to become one of the most performed and enduring string orchestra works of the 20th Century. This first-ever edition for symphonic wind band was arranged by Dr. Luci Disano and premiered by The President's Own United States Marine Band on August 24, 2022. George Walker (June 27, 1922 - August 23, 2018) began his groundbreaking career as a young piano virtuoso and was admitted to Oberlin College on a scholarship following his first public recital at the age of 14. Graduating with the highest honors in his Conservatory class, he was admitted to the Curtis Institute of Music, becoming the first black graduate of this renowned music school. His works demonstrate a wide range of artistic excellence in genres ranging from instrumental and vocal solos and chamber music to compositions for orchestra and other large ensembles. The title of the term Momentum can be explained by an event that creates extra energy, or the driving force of a moving object. In this case, both the driving force, The energy and the object can be translated to the music, the conductor and the band.
