L'oeuvre du compositeur brésilien et le pianiste Ernesto Nazareth (1863 1934) attire les amateurs de plus en plus dans ce pays. Après sa formation, il s'est concentré sur le divertissement léger et joué plusieurs années dans l'orchestre du cinéma Odeon, à Rio de Janeiro où Heitor Villa-Lobos a joué en tant que violoncelliste aussi. Pour lui, Nazareth a écrit le tango du même intitulé, et le compositeur collègues l'a loué comme 'la véritable incarnation de l'âme brésilienne'. C'était son 88 de tango Nazareth qui a fait l'un des compositeurs les plus influents du Brésil du 20e siècle.
