The Choir Library for Men's Choir includes distinctly more secular than sacred music. In this, the publishing house's program reflects the great tradition of men's choirs with a predominantly secular repertoire. It inspired many composers to write music for this setting, among them Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. But also lesser-known composers of the romantic period such as Johann Evangelist Habert and Othmar Schoeck created works for men's choirs. More modern composers like Jean Sibelius, Johann Nepomuk David and Siegfried Thiele, also represented here, continue this tradition into the 20th century. We wish you lots of joy at discovering and singing!Sacred MusicI. Apart from many other treasures by Giacomo Meyerbeer, the Choral Treasury series also contains his compositional gem An Mozart. The quartet for four male a cappella voices (TTBB) is based on a text by Ludwig Rellstab. Even in this brief musical bow to Mozart, Meyerbeer's affinity for the opera cannot be denied: He uses a wide harmonic, technical and dynamic range of expression and makes impressive use of the full ambitus of the male choir. A highly rewarding rarity for ambitious men's choirs (or optionally for four solo voices) in which all high romantic stops are pulled out to pay due tribute to Mozart as 'Meister ..., der im reinen Lichte schwebt' [maestro who hovers in pure light].

The enormous range of publications for mixed choir is published in the Choir Library in separate volumes for secular and sacred repertoire. The secular repertoire is divided into two volumes of unaccompanied choral music and one volume of works with instrumental accompaniment, mostly piano. The focus of the publishing house's program is on the Romantic era here. The majority of works was therefore composed by the great choral composers of this period: Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Robert Schumann. Later composers include Max Reger, Johann Nepomuk David and Kurt Thomas, but also Einojuhani Rautavaara and Siegfried Thiele. As female composers, Fanny Hensel and Clara Schumann are represented. We wish you lots of joy at discovering and singing!Volume 1 A cappellaI. Love SongsII. Seasonal SongsIII. Nature SongsIV. The name SAM-Klang takes the three voice parts from the arrangements -- Soprano, Alto and Men -- and combines it with the Scandinavian and German words for “sound†to create the portmanteau word “sound together†or “harmony.†The series offers basic and advanced choral repertoire. In addition to new repertoire and new arrangements, you will also find essential parts of the classical German, Scandinavian, French and English SATB repertoire, carefully and considerately reworked for SAM. The arrangements retain the characteristic features of the original movements and have almost the same richness of timbre, resulting in works which sound nearly unchanged to an audience. Piano reductions of all choral movements facilitate rehearsal preparation. The arrangements offer development opportunities for all voice sections, bringing new life and new quality to SAM choir work. SAM-Klang enables youth choirs to gain access to classical choral literature and ensures that mixed choirs who face challenges in finding singers for all male voice parts continue to have access to well-loved repertoire.
