Carl Nielsen

Throughout the years there have been many misprints minor and major found in Carl Nielsen's work. They range from missing staccato dots accents tempo markings and dynamic markings to missing notes and wrong notes. It has been the editor's desire to collect as many of these misprints as possible in these excerpts for trombone and tuba. Editorial corrections have been referred to in the text as well as having been written out or corrected in brackets.

The Mother Op. 41-This is the Piano score for Moderen (The Mother) Op.41 - A play in a prologue and seven scenes.Complete incidental music by Carl Nielsen. Text in Danish by Helge Rode.    

Spring In Funen Op. 42-Springtime in Funen is scored for mixed chorus and soprano tenor and baritone soloists a children's chorus and a small orchestra. The moderate resource requirements coupled with the fact that the work is reasonably accessible make this work ideal for a well developed amateur chorus to perform.

Carl Nielsen was a Danish musician conductor and violinist widely recognized as his country's greatest composer. Nielsen is especially noted for his six symphonies his Wind Quintet and his concertos for Violin Flute and Clarinet. In Denmark his opera ‘Maskarade’ and many of his songs have become an integral part of the national heritage.Saul og David is the first of the two operas by the Danish composer. The four-act libretto tells the Biblical story of Saul's jealousy of the young David taken from the Book of Samuel. This edition features the Voice parts with Piano reduction accompaniment.With the 150th anniversary of Nielsen’s birth in 2015 there is no more appropriate time to (re)discover this master composer!
