Music has no fronteers .So I try to express myself through different languages, styles and instruments .
For me nobody owns the truth, and become a good musician is as difficult in classical , than in rock , jazz, song, etc..
I began to play "actual music" since 14, studied piano, solfegium, organ, conducting, composition, chamber's music, etc ) I played for a long time jazz bop, free, fusion, also worked as a professionnal ....and i consider myself like a forever student .
I hope that the few pieces shared here will give you something special, and pleasure to play them . (Hide extended text) ... (Read all)

MESSAGES FROM
FRANCOIS PAVIL (News / Informations)
Leonard ANDERSON Writed on 2009-04-24 by Francois Pavil Thanks a thousand time for
Victor RENY, who permitted me
to meet this excellent
musician : I talk about
Leonard ANDERSON, who
transcended some of my modest
compositions and transformed
them in real music .
Leo is a performer who offers
a true personal
interpretation, free,
following his soul, as we do
in jazz, or in classical when
the interpreter might write
his "cadenzas", or
improvise the ornementation .
One of his more amazing
performance is his vision of
"Limonaire", a piece
thought to recall a barrel
organ : He plays it like a
sort of "Lamento
jazz", in the style -
it's my point of view -
of these genius "
d'avant-garde"
during the 60's : Mile
Davis or Wayne Shorter, for
instance .
And what could we say about
his "pirouette" :
play on the Bariton sax a
piece intended to sopranino
flute ? : somebody might do
it, Leonard did, and it's
Great !! ( i'm going to
write a transcription for Bari
sax, as a result ..).
I'm never tired to listen
to Leo's interpretations,
with this wonderful sound ,
full and rich and deep he owns
on clarinet or sax .
Leo plays all wind instruments
( wood family ), is a master
in playing, a master in
improvisation ( cf his chorus
on a soprano sax, in "Un
nuage de funk...", and
more, he is a friendly and
passionate man .
Don't wait for visiting
his website, where you'll
find several hundred of
recordings Leo made in every
style : Amazing !!!
I should want to have a
quarter of his energy !!!
Leonard, by playing my
compositions, offered me a
great present and an immense
pleasure . I wish you all the
same, my Free-scores
"Collegues" .
A few words Writed on 2008-12-13 by Francois Pavil I try to find some kind of
"essence" in my
music, and to avoid
repetitions, or
"delayage" .. I
prefer write short pieces .
To compose music is an human
engagement for me, especially
when i remain the genious
authors we can find all along
the past centuries . Most of
them are unknown by the
people, or only known by a
category of instrumentists (
who remembers Jehan Alain or
Maurice Duruflé, except
the organists , for instance,
and i speak there about
already famous composers !! ).
All of that pushes me to
humility .
We are all made of an
"heritage", which we
can increase every day by
discovering authors, and by
leaving behind the
"purist thought" -
( no, jazz is not repetitive
and simplist, as Boulez said
one day, no, contemporain
music is not made by idiots
who roll down with their
instruments, as said my
"concierge" .)
Websites like this one are a
chance for all people : share
music, play others
compositions, meet musicians
.. For me, who stopped (too)
long time ago to live my
entire life through the music,
it gives me a new desire of
creation ..
So, don't hesitate to
send your comments : better is
to be misjudged than to be
unjudged because your music is
forgotten in an old furniture
...
See you soon ?

Interest : Skill level : I like it. I'm just trying to
find new music to sight read
and the different time
signatures was good for that.
The melodies sound good too.
Good job!

Interest : Skill level : Nice piece! I'll try to play
it on cello because it's very
good written for this
instrument too!
It's a good prelude! When
comes the rest of the "Suite",
the sources becoming rivers
and waterfalls and maybe
ocean's?

Interest : Skill level : I have not played in years,
since high school, due to
personal reasons, but the
selection of music on this
site has definitely helped
with the transition back into
the music world I loved for so
long. The different skill
levels helps me to start small
and work my way back up to
where I used to be. Thank
you.

Interest : Skill level : I am classically trained on
the harpsichord (Oberlin
Conservatory) and now play in
a band for young children.
The musicians are wonderfully
talented and we do pretty much
everything, but mostly classic
rock. The drummer, who is
immensely talented, loves jazz
fusion. We have many
opportunities to improvise and
are given quite a wide range
of freedom in this regard. I
thought I would surprise him
with a tune or two.

Interest : Skill level : I play keyboard with a group
of young,very talented
musicians and the drummer's
favorite music is jazz fusion.
I would to find a few
high-quality tunes I could
play with him. It would be a
new--and I expect
wonderful--experience for me.

Interest : Skill level : I play keyboard with a group
of young, very talented
musicians. Seeing as the
drummer loves jazz fusion, I
thought I would try to learn
more about it and possibly
surprise him with a few tunes
he would enjoy.
Interest : Skill level : Very convenient, with good
scores, not limited to only
one genre. Very valuable,
especially when there is no
way to pay for music online.
Thanks!!!
