Frank Duarte is a student composer, arranger and musician in the Southern California area. He has made prestigious appearances at such venues as those of the: Hollywood Christmas Parade, Tournament of Roses Parade, Ricard M. Nixon Presidential Library and Birthplace, the Alamodome, the Georgia Dome, the Rose Bowl, the Lucas Oil Stadium at the Drum Corps International World Championships and others.
He has toured in twenty different states and has played with the Placentia Symphonic Band, the Golden West College Symphonic Band, the Santa Ana Winds Youth Band, the Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps among others.
He has obtained membership in music organizations as those of the Southern California Band and Orchestra Association and the California Alliance for Jazz just to name a few. He was award the 2010 National School Marching Award for his outstanding contributions on the field and dedication as a leader whose example inspires others.
He has studied trumpet with Marie “Ree” Oliva (Julliard School of Music) and currently is studying horn with Jerry Garvin (Orange County Symphony), harmony and mucisianship with Anthony Mazzaferro (Claremont Symphonic Winds). Frank Duarte has also had the privilege of playing under the leadership of Dr. Gregory Wall (DMA), Dr. Tony Mazzaferro (DMA), Jerry Garvin, Dr. Robert Istad (DMA), Dr. Collette Hausey (DMA), Robert Ward, Greg Rochford, John Hausey, John Byun, Dr. Marc Dickey (Ph.D), Dr. Richard Kravchak (Ph.D), Marie "Ree" Oliva, Stephen Dunn (DMA) and others.
