ANTONIO TARSIA (born in Koper (Capodistria) on 28.7.1643 - died in Koper (Capodistria) on 10.10.1722). (SLOVENIA). His origin was from noble italian family, which we found in Koper from 13.th Centrury on. When he was 15, he started to sing in Koper cathedral choir. With 19 years he become cathedral organist (Koper) and this place he kept until his death. In his own hand signed manuscript I have found his 26 pieces written for vocal (solo or choir) and organ (sometimes accompagnied with strings - violins and violone). Most of manuscripts have also an exact date and year of composing. As chronics tell us, that Tarsia wrote incredibly a lot of church music, and some years after his death (on 1726 exactlly) they ordered repair a big wooden case where composers manuscripts have been kept.
