Gioacchino Antonio Rossini (February 29, 1792 – November 13, 1868) was an Italian musical composer who wrote more than 30 operas as well as sacred music and chamber music. His best known works include Il barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville), and Guillaume Tell (William Tell) (the end of the overture is popularly known for being the signature tune for The Lone Ranger).

Interest : Skill level : Two of us choir members are
receiving sight reading
practice and music theory
instruction (a refresher for
me, instruction for a newer
member who has never had
formal music training). This
is a wonderful and fun piece
for practicing rhythm, counter
melodies, expression, and
beats! The beat is easy to
pick up, the tempo is nice and
slow to begin with, and there
are no difficult lyrics to
worry about, as one student is
an English learner. There's
also a little room for
"fudging" or improv so if we
make a little mistake in the
exact rendering, it won't hurt
anything. Good for building
singing confidence! Being a
cat person myself and
understanding the dynamics of
"cat encounters", I like to
slip in a little 'hiss' or
feline body language to make
it even more expressive and
realistic (and funny!). :)
I'd give it an
advanced-beginner level of
difficulty. I hope that our
instructor will let us perform
it at our church's "feast day"
party... it's always a crowd
pleaser
Interest : Skill level : It is easy to read if you know
how to read music- It is the
score for the opera/ with all
parts.. Pretty awesome, and an
mp3 of it all in one place
